First Arriving Engine on West Deptford House Fire
Tue. Jan 24th 2017

Just before 1130 hours Engine Company 511 was alerted to the 1200 block of Hessian AVE in the Verga section of West Deptford for a dwelling fire with a report of people trapped. 511 responded immediately with four personnel and arrived minutes later along with Ladder 626 (Verga Fire Company). 511's crew assumed first due engine responsibilities, stretching attack lines through the dwelling into an attached garage where the room and car on fire were confined and contained. One civilian was transported to an area hospital by GCEMS. Numerous area fire companies also responded to the scene. The fire is under investigation by the West Deptford Fire Marshal's office.
